MINNEAPOLIS (KARE) -- For some, marriage can be a scary proposition. But for one Twin Cities couple, not even Halloween could give them cold feet.
"I've always loved Halloween, I knew I'd get married on Halloween," said Samrith Samnanveth, the bride.
Outside, Samrith and her new husband Scott arrived in a hearse. And inside, from candles, coffins, to a creepy cake, a vampire themed wedding sunk its teeth into the Varsity Theater Saturday.
"We wanted to do a vampire masquerade theme, that's what we shot for and got," said Samrith.
The big day took two-years to plan and it's everything they have wanted.
"It's dark, eerie, it's elegant, it's a little seductive but creepy," said Samrith.
"It's Dracula's castle. If you were at his castle, you'd picture it as Dracula's castle," said Scott, the groom.
Samrith sported a red silk dress and the guests were not dressed in gothic-themed costumes, even though the wedding was on Halloween.
"I wanted to keep it very classy, very elegant, format attire, no costumes," said Samrith.
They tied the knot in the chapel at Lakewood Cemetery.
"I've always wanted to get married in a cemetery," said Samrith.
They were engaged in London while on a ghost tour.
"He proposed, it was just beautiful and I cried," said Samrith.
Industry experts say a growing number of couples are ditching white weddings and going for gothic themed. .wedding dress
