Alfred Angelo donates gowns for military brides wedding dress

A group of military brides-to-be will get the opportunity to walk down the aisle wearing an Alfred Angelo wedding gowns, thanks to a donation by the dress maker.

As part of an alliance with nonprofit organization Operation Homefront, Alfred Angelo has made 386 wedding dresses available to women who are serving in the military - or whose fiancés are serving.

The latest celebrations will come on June 13. That day, 20 military brides from the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning who are deploying for duty overseas in Fall 2009 will take part in a group ceremony at Columbus Botanical Garden.

"Most are not able to have a formal wedding or ceremony," said Kim Scofie of Operation Homefront-Georgia. "These military brides are ecstatic and they look amazing in their Alfred Angelo gowns."

Up to this point, 266 Alfred Angelo wedding gowns have been chosen for ceremonies in Georgia, Florida, Texas, Maine and Oregon.

"It's a joy to give these brides and grooms that special day as a thank you from Alfred Angelo for answering a call to duty," explained Amanda Sheronas, director of PR and Events for the company.
