Many women feel that their wedding day is the biggest of their lives, but one Connecticut bride put aside her own celebrations to save a family.
Georgette Clemons had just left her wedding reception when she noticed smoke emanating from a house, media sources report.
The newlywed didn't skip a beat, but demanded her friend, Hannah Bost, stop the car she was driving and the bride rushed up to the house, located in West McKinley Avenue in Bridgeport.
Clemons ran over to the house, still in her wedding dress and shoes, and knocked on the door to alert the family of the fire.
"There was smoke coming from this house and as soon as I stopped the car, Georgette got out in her wedding dresses and ran toward the front door," Bost told the Connecticut Post.
The family all made it out of their home safely and luckily, Clemons' dress was left soiled but intact.
She told the paper that her shoes were practically ruined, but she shrugged this off, concluding "At least the people are OK."
