Paying it forward with a wedding gown

Paying it forward with a wedding gown

Gone are the days in which brides were expected to pack their wedding dress into a box after their big day, to be preserved for years to come.

These days, many women are embracing a reuse-and-recycle philosophy after they have rocked their gown, by selling it to brides-to-be who are looking for a bargain route to beauty.

Johanna Stubblefield of Littleton, Colorado is taking it one step further and offering to give away her recently worn gown to someone who needs it, KUSA-TV reports.

She and her husband Rick took photos of the $1,000 wedding dress and posted them on Craigslist along with their offer of donation.

"To see another bride who can really, really use it, it would mean the world to me. It really would," she told the news provider.

Stubblefield also said she hopes the woman she gives her dress to will follow her lead in the future and pass it on again.

"I hope they give it to someone else, you know, pay it forward. It is such a gorgeous dress," she said.
